Shipping & Delivery

1. Production Time

All of IWD iron doors are custom-built to order.
Production typically takes 7–10 weeks after final drawing approval. During peak seasons, production time may vary slightly.
Customers will be notified once the order has completed production and is ready to ship.

2. Shipping Method

Due to the size and weight of our products, all doors are shipped via freight carrier (LTL freight).

Delivery includes:

  • Curbside delivery only
  • The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment

Please ensure someone is available to receive and inspect the shipment at the scheduled time.

3. Shipping Time (Transit)

Estimated transit time after shipment from the warehouse:

  • West Coast: 37 business days
  • Central U.S.: 510 business days
  • East Coast: 714 business days

Transit times may vary depending on location and freight carrier schedules.

4. Shipping Costs

We offer free shipping on all orders delivered within the contiguous United States. No minimum purchase is required, and no additional shipping fees will be charged at checkout.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Remote or rural delivery areas
  • Limited access locations
  • Re-delivery requests
  • Residential delivery upgrades (if applicable)

5. Delivery Requirements

Our doors are large and heavy (often exceeding 400800 lbs).

Customers are responsible for:

  • Arranging sufficient manpower for unloading
  • Providing necessary equipment (forklift or lift gate if required)
  • Ensuring delivery access is clear and safe

Failure to receive delivery may result in additional storage or redelivery fees charged by the carrier.

6. Inspection Upon Delivery

Customers must inspect the shipment at the time of delivery.

If damage is visible:

  • Note all damage clearly on the delivery receipt
  • Take photos of the packaging and product
  • Notify us within 48 hours

If damage is not noted on the delivery receipt, freight claims may be denied by the carrier.

7. Shipping Coverage Area

We currently ship within the contiguous United States. For Alaska, Hawaii, or international shipments, please contact us for a custom freight quote.

8. Order Tracking

Once your order has shipped, we will provide a tracking number and carrier contact information. The freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment.

9. Delays

While we strive to meet all estimated timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by:

  • Weather conditions
  • Freight carrier scheduling
  • Port or logistics disruptions
  • Unforeseen production delays

We will keep customers informed if delays occur.

Shipping Notice & Delivery Responsibilities

Freight Carrier & Delivery Scheduling

All iron doors are shipped via national domestic LTL freight carriers.

Once your order is picked up from our warehouse, we immediately arrange freight booking. A tracking number will be generated and provided to you once the shipment is confirmed.

The freight carrier may contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment. Customers may also contact the carrier to coordinate delivery timing.

It is the customers responsibility to:

  • l Provide a valid and reachable phone number at the time of order
  • l Monitor shipment updates
  • l Respond promptly to carrier communication

Failure to coordinate delivery in a timely manner may result in additional charges.

Missed Delivery & Storage Fees

Customers are solely responsible for any additional costs incurred due to inability to accept delivery at the scheduled date and time. These costs may include, but are not limited to:

  • Storage fees
  • Re-delivery fees
  • Terminal holding fees

If delivery cannot be completed after shipment approval, the customer will be responsible for all storage charges assessed by the freight carrier.

IWD Iron Wrought Doors reserves the right to withhold re-delivery authorization until all outstanding freight or storage fees have been paid in full.

Unloading Requirements

Our iron doors are heavy and oversized freight items. Deliveries require a minimum of 35 able-bodied individuals on-site to safely unload the shipment.

While some carriers may offer liftgate service, most of our doors exceed standard liftgate length limitations. Under LTL safety regulations, drivers may refuse lift gate operation if the product extends beyond the gate platform.

If the driver determines lift gate unloading is unsafe, customers must unload the product directly from inside the truck.

Customers are fully responsible for:

  • Providing sufficient manpower
  • Safely unloading the shipment
  • Disassembling the crate
  • Moving the product from the curb to the designated storage location

Please note that unloading these products is physically demanding and requires multiple capable individuals.

Curbside Delivery Only

ALL LTL deliveries are curbside only.

Freight carriers will not:

  • Deliver up a driveway
  • Enter a garage
  • Move the product inside the property
  • Assist with unpacking & installation

It is the customers responsibility to transport the shipment from the curb to its final storage or installation area.

Restricted Access Locations

If delivery cannot be completed due to site restrictions, such as:

  • Narrow or one-way streets
  • Steep inclines
  • Unfinished roads
  • Limited truck access
  • Any condition that may compromise truck safety

The customer will be required to pick up the shipment directly from the freight carriers local terminal.
